trip to UT

our trip to UT right before Chelsey's wedding was so fun! we got to go to the zoo with the Rust boys and see a few friends while we were there too.

and we got to play with all of the cousins together the day after the wedding. pioneer park in St. George is a blast for kids! we all did "the crack" and just played and played and played!! we miss our UT family so much!

Chelsey and Taylor's Wedding!

Aaron's little sister got married this weekend. We're so happy to have Taylor in our family. The kids LOVE Uncle Taylor.... and so do the adults. :) The setting and the couple were perfect.

Chelsey was crazy enough to ask me to do the pictures at her wedding. Yes, crazy. I heisted my mom's fancy camera and away I went. The bride was absolutely STUNNING! I hope my pictures do her justice. They are such goof balls and were so fun to photograph. Now I know why people do this for a livWe love you guys!

don't hate me because i got this table for $5

i really wanted a little table for the hall by the entry to my garage. i just didn't want to spend any money. which is why i didn't have a table. ha.

and then one day i was doing my usual Goodwill stalking run and came across this table ... for $5!!! the Goodwill guy almost always smokes crack (because things are too expensive) but this time it was the other way around! $5! i thought it was marked wrong or something. it was already antiqued/distressed and beautiful. aaron bought me the knobs at Anthropologie (i'd been stalking them... trying to figure out where i could put them in my house) and my table is perfect. i love it!

now for that white board on the wall. how to make it funky....

spray paint makes me feel crafty

so, i'm not one of those crafty people when it comes to most things. i've made a few decent cards here and there, a fairly miserable wreath a while back... but mostly i just refuse to create (except in the kitchen, of course).

and then i met my new best friend - spray paint. and my new favorite store - goodwill. and i started trash digging.

be still my heart. i created something! and i don't even miss aaron when he hasn't been home before 10pm (or has just been out of town) since november (okay, i really do miss him, but this seriously keeps me entertained).

my pictures don't really do this stuff justice. so much better in real life. it really is so much fun - and looks AMAZING!

sanded, primed, painted Krylon Purple and glazed (they are going to look even cooler when i get my kitchen table done). i love the pop of color they bring to my kitchen!

here's what it turned out like - post priming, painting and glazing! it will look much better when it's hanging on chelsey's wall and not sitting on my carpet.
chelsey loved it. she told me at least 4 times that it is her favorite thing she got for her wedding!

i really wanted to keep this mirror. it took all the goodness in my sisterly heart to give it up. it's gorgeous.
