1 year of Emery

I love how people usually do a string of pics from the whole 1st year of their child's life... so here it is! I can't believe this post has come (3 weeks + late) and how big our tiny 6 1/2 lb baby has gotten!

1 year old... so big and on a sugar high! (she stayed up 3 1/2 hours after her birthday cupcake in las vegas! yikes!)

happy birthday old guy!

my wonderful husband turned 26 on Monday! it seems like just yesterday we were 20 and 22-year-old newlyweds. at that point i thought i could never love him more, but i love him more now than i ever thought possible. i love you, aar!

we had fun celebrating his bday. we went climbing at the Quarry where we put Em in her 1st kiddy harness and then we went to the BYU Creamery and got kids meals - something we used to do all the time, but hadn't done since Em was born. For his present, I made him an apple pie and got him a bag of mini 3 Musketeers. :)

for dinner, she had this french fry, grapes, ketchup and my entire ice cream cone (just the cone, no ice cream) on the way home in her carseat.

emery's boyfriend

i know emery has been spoken for by several tiny men (russ-russ, liam and jacob to name a few), but she seems to be testing the waters on her own. this is her boyfriend tanner. tanner is 2 and he says he's going to marry emery. tanner crawls when she's around and they just follow each other around the climbing gym or wherever they are. it's adorable. his parents are our climbing friends, Aaron and Jen. they are fun to climb and hang out with and the babies love it too - they are entertained for longer when they have a buddy!

em has gotten more advanced in her climbing technique. she can now hang on to a hold, put her foot on the wall and try to pull up with her arms! too cute and her daddy is soooooo proud.
