2010 reading

I read 6006 pages (of fiction) in 2010. That is probably 5000 pages more than the year before. Maybe not a lot to some people, but it's TONS for me! I have zero time to read. What made the difference last year?

  1. Van nursed less than every two hours until he was 6 months old. That's a lot of reading.
  2. I was having so much fun reading that I abandoned the treadmill for the elliptical for about 6 months because I can read while I'm on it. :)
I'm back to running. And I have no baby to nurse. :( I'm sure 2011 will be more like 1000 pages. Here's to hoping for a 7000 page 2012!

My reading list - just for fun! I really loved all of these books.

The Zion Covenant series - Bodie Thoene (books 1-5)
The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series - Alexander McCall Smith (books 3-10?)
The Hunger Games series
Enna Burning - Shannon Hale
AJ Adams - The Year of Living Biblically

Have you read any of the No 1 Ladies Detective books? I think they are so cute. Very easy reading...which is nice when you don't have a lot of time. :D

How much did you love the Zion Covenant Series? I became completely hooked on them and read them while I was nursing Serelle (nothing like having a nursing baby for a good excuse to just sit down and read!) I have to admit that sometimes I would really stretch out the feeding times just so I could finish a chapter! I know this may sound juvenile, but right now I'm reading the Tapestry Series (recommended to me by my 15 yr old brother) and I'm really enjoying them. Just a thought as you're looking for something new to read!

I'll have to check out some of your suggestions since I am currently in the nurse and read stage right now. :) I just finished the Shannon Hale series. Enna Burning was probably my least favorite so in case you didn't like it and didn't continue on I definitely recommend at least reading the 3rd book, River Secrets.
